Daily Duties at American Express Travel:
Provided national support for two directors responsible for $500M in annual sales and 500 employees. Collaborated at all levels of the company and across divisions, including human resources, payroll, marketing, learning and development. Highlights include: •Developed process mapping for newly hired employees that was adopted as a national best practice. •Reviewed monthly operating statement and reallocated erroneous charges, improving accuracy of profits. •Co-coordinator for regional downsizing resulting in the closure of four offices. •Acted as key coordinator to open up offices for new accounts, including travel to the sites to meet with customers. •As Divisional AAP coordinator, responsible for the timely preparation and reporting of AAP goals which prevented costly non-compliance penalties. •Organized monthly conference calls among peers, encouraging best practice sharing. •Negotiated vendor discounts for both individual and group travel, including national Diversity Conference, saving $65K. •Created databases including employee compensation market studies and call center response times. •Maintained payroll and timekeeping, decreasing overtime by 75% over previous year. •Motivated and coordinated all Tucson based American Express divisions to participate in the United Way Day of Caring resulting in significant team building and community recognition through TV and Newspaper coverage.
