Daily Duties at Associated Grocers:

Daily Outs - Review buyer out reports, determine ETA of product’s next receiving and notify stores who’ve been “outed” of the ETA so they can reorder the merchandise.
Critical Receiving - Identifies instances where a driver has not called ahead to schedule a delivery appointment, contacts supplier to ask for ETA and communicates findings to buyer. Update buyer’s on-line PO journal.
Purchase Orders - Fields inquiries from manufacturers regarding orders initiated by buyers. Tracks daily confirmations and follows up on non-respondents.
Discontinued Items - Identifies item specs, prepares 14 day discontinued item notice and transmits to broker; works with buyer on liquidation of extra inventory and/or coordinates transfer of the product with the vendor and warehouse.
Merchandise Transfer - Determines value of inventory, solicits return authorization from vendor, initiates transfer documentation and coordinates disposition onward through billing.
New Items – Verifies scan UPC and required accompaniments. Measures the item, updates new item spreadsheet, transmits acceptance notice to broker.
Promotion Input – Inputs and audits buying and promotional allowances along with list price changes.
Promotional Material – Creates sell sheets and unique promotional material used by Center Store and brokerage personnel to promote product.
Show Book Creation – Creates Show Books through the use of Excel for monthly and yearly shows.
Claims Research – Researches vendor claims ala deduction paybacks; inquiries; ect.
Retail Order Maintenance – Fields calls from retail initiating new orders or maintenance of existing requests; prepares documentation and submits for processing.
Customer Service – Fields inquiries from retail and the brokerage community relative to product, pricing, promotional activity.
Special Projects – As defined by Buyer, Category Manager, Coordinating Manager.
Filing.
Other Administrative Duties – Serves as back up to other Department Assistants e.g. cover console for lunch and break periods, vacation, sick etc. Train on select functions, to include: service and commodity reporting, Lightening & Lawson audits, vendor/broker changes, business suites, business reviews, ect.
