Daily Duties at Intertribal Native Council :

Duties: As President I ran meetings with an agenda in mind, which at the time was to balance the organizations budget that was in a deficit and organize the yearly Pow Wow. The budget had to be track back several years to figure out where the problem started. Then we work our way forward to fixing or implementing new procedures that would prevent future problems of the same nature from happening again. At the time membership was low so had to rely on what member we and outside volunteers to help fund raise for the yearly Pow Wow. The organization had to find a place for the event, create advertising to promote the Pow Wow. We talked to several people about our situation in hope to gather and put in place a head staff and host drum for the event, which came from Duck Valley Reservation (Owyhee, NV), Nez Perce Reservation (Lapwai, ID), and Fort Hall Reservation (Fort Hall, ID). Other things that where accomplished was giving the Pow Wow A name (The Seven Arrows Pow Wow), creating a database for competition dancing. Also helped with the Boise States Program called Walk to the North, which bring students on campuses that are considering their higher education.

What they like about Intertribal Native Council :

Working for a company with an emphasis on social values and helping society is a clear and important priority for you - a critical factor in who you choose to work for. In contrast to other factors, you place an organization's reputation for fairness and concern for the community above most other aspects of the company. As you search for a new job opportunity, it is usually possible to find out if the company is involved in the community and/or if it is addressing problems and issues in society. Pay special attention to non-profit organizations and those specifically involved in social action. Moreover, speaking with current and former employees should enlighten you to perceptions of the fairness of the company's leaders and the treatment of employees.
