Daily Duties at Usps:

As a distribution clerk for USPS (United States Postal Service), my duties were to sort, rack, and tie mail at the post office before. In sorting letters, I correlated mail in the sequence as the streets occur on the route. Letters and magazines for occupants of an apartment complex would be tied together with a rubber band. Also, I maintained required information, recorded changes of address; maintained other reports, and forwarded undeliverable as addressed mail. I handled sacks of mail weighing as heavy as 70 pounds. Sorted mail and distributed it by using complicated schemes, which must be memorized. I placed letters and or flats, such as, magazines and pieces of mail in large envelopes into the correct post office. I dumped sakes of mail onto conveyors for culling and sorting; loaded and unloaded sacks and trays of mail on and off mail transporters, such as APCs (All-Purpose Containers) and BMCs (Bulk Mail Containers). During my tenure at USPS, I was periodically assigned to a public counter or window in order to sell postage stamps and weighing parcels, where I was personally responsible for all monies collected and stamps sold. Occasionally, processed mail which was undeliverable, these consist of keying information into system. I operated the letter sorting machine by ensuring that routes and carriers are assigned as appropriate. Upon assignment to the dock area, I was responsible for loading and unloading mail onto and off trucks. I separated mail sacks to different routes or cities; cancelled parcel post stamps; rewrapped parcels, and operating canceling machines.
