Daily Duties at The National Conference For Community & Justice:
5/1997 - 12/2001 The National Conference for Community & Justice, Los Angeles, CA The NCCJ is a human relations organization and most of its operating budget is made through fundraising. My two main areas of responsibility were: ? Accounting, which included: accounts receivable, bank deposits, credit card processing, invoicing, donation receipting, financial tracking (budgets, membership, fundraising events) and accounts payable (preparation of vouchers for payment, payment & expense tracking). ? Special Events: Fundraising events (time lines, design & distribution of invitations, event responses & on-sight registration, room arrangement & seating charts.). Annual membership campaign and newsletter mailings. I was also responsible for the records management and maintenance of our membership, donor & board data bases and department files.
What they like about The National Conference For Community & Justice:
Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
