Daily Duties at Systems For Public Safety, Inc. :
The bulk of my day consisted of email I was in charge of correspondences, mostly dealing with sales of products used. All customer inquiries through email were routed to me and I was left in charge of responding to questions, complaints, inquiries, and sales orders for entire business. 80% of all sales were through my email box. Throughout the day I took all calls routing them appropriately, scheduling vehicle maintenance, and finalizing sales. In order to get things organized and running smoothly I had to create new spreadsheets for entire business. Part of that process was creating an inventory list that was matched with all work order and sales lists. These sheets stopped the dwindling of office inventory. I managed all incoming vehicles and there paperwork. I created a tracking system that allowed everyone to know what was in or out at a glance. I also made this correspond each day with the inventory list, to track all used product. I updated old spreadsheets and put them all in a well organized file cabinet as well as on a disk for easy copying through a print press. I was in charge of programming, fax machine and phone system, and scheduling maintenance for all office machinery. There was no ad work, flyers, or media sales what-so-ever. I took charge of sales increasing call volume by 20% in the two month I worked there. I created a three fold mailer, a two sided flyer, and a three page email flyer. I also sent out flyers via mail, email, and fax to old sales leads that had been stuffed into a file labeled “Dead”! The business had no sales procedure or processes before I started. I created and implemented a process for all back orders, organized and managed files, revamped spreadsheets to place orders, and made all orders easy to find and read. Headed reviews of operational records and reports to project sales and determine profitability. Direct, coordinate, and review activities in sales, recordkeeping, and in shipping/receiving operations. I also created a spreadsheet to help track all sales as well as volume of each product carried. I started monitoring customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts. Sales increased creating more items to ship out. I was in charge of sending all merchandise out the door through most cost effective way – UPS, USPS, FEDEX, whatever was the fastest and least expensive. Had a great relationship with all the vendors – could always sweet talk them into a pickup!
What they like about Systems For Public Safety, Inc. :
Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
