Daily Duties at The Boeing Company:

Performed assembly and testing of Space Lab and International Space Station hardware, fluids, pneumatic, cryogenic, and electrical systems and sub-systems. Interpreted engineering drawings and built flight hardware in accordance with company standards and practices, government standards, and OSHA requirements. Responsible for maintaining records and ensuring correctness of data entered in Work Authorizing Documents in accordance with company ISO 9000 procedures. Performed Late Access operations to install critical time sensitive live experiments and cargo aboard Space Shuttle at the launch pad. Performed F.O.D. inspections of flight hardware prior to launch. Wrote safety inspection documents for ground support equipment to facilitate Boeings VPP certification by OSHA. These documents ultimately resulted in lower potential for injury to personnel and lower maintenance costs for the equipment. Designed, built, and inspected personal access to facilitate the integration and checkout of Space Lab and Space Station hardware. Inspected flight elements using micrometers, depth gauges, light reflection meters, bore scopes, microscopes, digital micro ohm meters, feeler gauges, and fiber optic scopes. Served on several process improvement teams where many of our recommendations were implemented to address either safety concerns or efficiency issues. Utilized root cause analysis theory to solve various integration problems with the technician group. Lead a lean initiative to save the company close to $150,000 in processing time for the Multi-Purpose Logistics Module. Served on 2 �five S� teams to categorize and document transferable ground support equipment and flight hardware from the Space Lab program to the International Space Station program thus cutting cost for redundant hardware and tooling. Played a key role in the reorganization of the Delta 4 shipping and receiving hanger that resulted in a 400% increase in efficiency.
