Daily Duties at Bell Canada:
Telco; Canada’s # 1 service provider for Satellite TV (Bell Expressvu), Broadband (Sympatico) & Mobile Phones (Bell Mobility) • Led Programming and Content unit (25 persons) responsible for all developing, producing and acquiring programming for 300+ linear channels; 55 proprietary Pay Per View channels, HD, VOD and interactive television across multiple platforms including satellite TV, IPTV, broadband & wireless • Responsible for $350 M+ of Programming Acquisitions costs annually • P&L responsibility for $40 M+ annual PPV revenues; increased revenue for Bell’s proprietary, self-programmed “Venus” network by 25% in 3 months by branding Bell’s 12 proprietary channels and developing new program offerings & scheduling • Oversaw all content & programming for the launch of Bell’s national IPTV service in October 2006 • Launched 4 new interactive channels and applications; news, weather, sports & NFL Sunday Ticket within 6 mos; developed and secured rights to produce comprehensive interactive applications & programs from top television producers such as Mark Burnett & Reveille • Produced in-house HD broadcast specials and programming (concerts, entertainment news and highlights & sports) • Conceived and implemented comprehensive interactive cross-platform offerings for Bell’s sponsorship of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and the 1st Bell Independent Film Festival in partnership with IFC and Alliance Atlantis • Served as senior business advisor on multiple major acquisitions including Cable VDN; Bell's divestiture of CTV ($1.3 Billion deal); and JV with Spotlight to establish Canada’s 1st national Premium Television (movie) service
