Sys Admin (October 1993 - February 1994, Frank's Nursery and Crafts):Worked on contract. Hired to evaluate LAN environment and recommend strategies to improve the LAN's performance. LAN was based on IBM's LAN Server. -Implemented a monthly newsletter to establish a relationship with the LAN users. -Evaluated the established LAN infrastructure. Recommended suggestions for additions, modifications, and deletions to the LAN environment to optimize its performance. -Wrote proposals to establish justification for LAN technologies that were needed in Frank-s network. -Installed and support OS/2, DOS LAN users (clients). -Optimized the DB2/2 database server. Minimized query times from ten minutes to less than 1 minute. -Responsible for PC application development in both DOS and OS/2 environments. Including Micro to mainframe process development; distributed database processing using IBM-s DDCS/S and DB2/2 Server. -Installed and supported personal productivity Tools
