Daily Duties at Bayshore Medical Center:
Being a Patient Care Technician involved taking care of the patients and their needs in the following manner: Reading and documenting the patient's vital signs Assisting the patient's with their day to day activities Reporting any changes in the patient's medical condition Completing any tasks given to me outside of my regular duties Admitting patients accurately and setting up any equipment the nurses and doctors may have needed Completing all paperwork and charting required Answering any question the patient or their families asked While in this position, I attended a Telemetry class so I could become more efficient. This training gave me the knowledge to understand the readings on the monitors used on the patients. With this new insight, I became more valuable in determining if the patients needed immediate attention.
