Daily Duties at United States Air Force:
Managed one of two facilities with usage of over 800 people daily. Supervised staff of 4 military and 1 civilian contractor. Monitored weight room, basketball court, locker rooms, and fitness programs. Planned and developed the sports schedule for intramural, varsity, and extramural sports. Scheduled competitions for varsity basketball, soccer, football, and softball teams. Maintained sports fields and coordinated with base Civil Engineers to correct problems. Certified acceptance of sports officials duties and ensured government received quality work. Resolved sports disputes during competitions and held meetings with officials for avoidance of future problems. Developed and implemented programs to accommodate the wide range of interests for both fitness and sports activities in traditional and specialized activities. Coordinated with base organizations to ensure that sports advisory members were assigned and conducted sports council meetings to ensure the by laws of intramural sports were thoroughly understood. Coordinated the use of facilities to accommodate the comprehensive fitness and sports programs. Ensured weekly inspections were conducted on fitness and sports equipment, fields, and facilities with discrepancies documented and forwarded to the appropriate office for correction. Consulted with ground safety office and civil engineers to report and correct any ground safety hazards. Heard and resolved grievances and complaints; initiated appropriate corrective and/or disciplinary action for performance or conduct. Identified training needs; and developed and implemented training plans. Provided advice and assistance to subordinates on work and administrative matters. Ensured education in and compliance with security directives and safety and health directives in work areas. Reported safety and security violations. Ensured safety equipment and protective clothing/gear was worn when mandated by regulations. Regularly reviewed employee developmental needs and provided assistance and training to maintain and improve performance. Applied changing methods and techniques in program area. Kept abreast of advances and changes in the areas of exercise physiology, life-style management, nutrition, and physical conditioning. Developed appropriate administrative safeguards to protect funds, equipment, and property. Ensured inventory control of all property, equipment, and supplies to protect government assets and determine replacement levels.
