Daily Duties at Serco, Inc:

I started out as Receptionist/Administrative Assistant at this non-profit organization and was promoted 2 times. As Receptionist I Answered a multi-line phome system and directed calls. Processed Requests for Purchase. Streamlined filing system. Created procedure and tracked attandance for Cisco class. Created forms and procedures used to make office more efficient. I was also Clerical support for the office. I was promoted to Employment Advisor in which I conducted Resume, job search, basic computer skills, and motivation workshops. Expedited monthly progress reports. Met and exceeded employment placement goals. Facilitated new ideas to assist participants in obtaining goals; therefore reaching agency goals. My last promotion was to accually add the responsibility of Payroll Clerk for a new Senior employment program in which I created and processed the payroll procedure for approximatly 150 participants. I also entered all data for new participants.

Market reputation and prestige of a firm may be determined through on-line research, and conversations with individuals working in your target industry. Note that firms "in the public eye" receive a great deal more critical publicity and attention than those operating with more anonymity. So as you assess your employment opportunities, be sure to seek out the positive aspects of the firm's reputation in addition to noting negative publicity the company may have received.
