Daily Duties at Miami Dade Police Depertment:
Reviewed, coded and prepared, incident reports and entered crime report data into the GIS/CAS database. Analyzed crime and accident data using several different programs, and created statistical reports. Coordinated and initiated surveillance and special crime reduction details which resulted in an overall reduction of over 50% in crime. Compiled weekly, monthly and yearly statistics, created presentations, and presented them to the upper level Administrators. Worked closely with detectives informing them of hot spots, crime trends, subject information, as well as creating line-ups and bolos which lead to the arrest of several criminals. Was responsible for overseeing the operations of the unit, and assisted the other employees, making sure work was being done properly and on time. Present all finished projects and requests to the District Commander and Upper Level Administration. Attend all meetings that pertain to my unit, as well as, teach, train and inform other employees. Our unit was recognized by the Director of Operations as the most successful unit to analyze, detect trends and hot spots. I was an FDLE certified instructor and taught FCIC certification classes to over 100 employees in our district. I worked with detectives and specialized units during surveillance and crime reduction details by working on the radio, dispatching, and running subject background checks.
