Daily Duties at Greater Wilkes Barre Chamber:

Focused on bringing communications to the table as part of the senior management team as the first Vice President in the Communications area. Accomplishments included: Developing the organization’s brand, including development of a logo to unite three separate affiliates, a website (ranked 1st in PA in 2001), an E-newsletter and a full color area magazine. Creating programs, publications and projects that earned over 19 national awards of excellence from ACCE for communications efforts. Managing media communications with two daily newspapers, three TV news stations, radio stations/talk program and facilitating dialogue through quarterly media meetings. Developing and implementing crises communications strategies to deal with the challenges from anti-business government leaders and a negative campaign confronting an arena/convention center project the Chamber supported. Planning and coordinating news conferences/special events for businesses, including coordinating with company CEOs and contacts at the state, county and local levels.
