Daily Duties at Creative Loafing Inc:

I was advertising and sales manager.I trained, supervised, and mentored the sales staff. and assisted them with contract negotiations, and personally went on their appointments with them when necessary, to close a negotiation with a client. I managed the accounts of the night clubs and restaurants, as well as our national clients. I was a tireless promoter of the paper, and did a great deal of bartering with various media outlets, includuding radio and television, to promote the paper. I arranged for Creative Loafing to sponsor a number of high profile events, including both an annual New Years eve party and a Halloween party, at one of the higher profile, affluent nightclubs in the city. I also promoted the biggest one day event ever to be held in Atlanta, call "Junefest"'83".A free festival which included, samples from over one hundred fifty restaurants and food suppliers, giveaways, free records, entertainment, music and much more. At the event, Wendys(the restaurant chain) set a "Guiness book of world records" benchmark, for "the worlds' largest salad". The croutons alone were over two hundred fifty pounds. During my tenure at Creative Loafing, the paper grew from sixteen pages to over one hundred eighty pages. Today, the company has grown a great deal, has papers in a number of cities, and recently bought the Chicago reader. I was a contributor to that success, and they themselves state that.I worked tirelessly for the company, and to help make it grow.

What they like about Creative Loafing Inc:

You give high priority to hiring firms with prestige. Market reputation and prestige of a firm may be determined through on-line research, and conversations with individuals working in your target industry. Note that firms "in the public eye" receive a great deal more critical publicity and attention than those operating with more anonymity. So as you assess your employment opportunities, be sure to seek out the positive aspects of the firm's reputation in addition to noting negative publicity the company may have received.
