Stephanie Kolakowsky-Hayner is currently completing her dissertation in Health Related Sciences with a concentration in Rehabilitation Leadership at Virginia Commonwealth University. She holds two Bachelors degrees from the University of Connecticut; in Psychology and Sociology, and a Master’s degree in Experimental Psychology from Towson University. She has extensive training in psychological and neurobehavioral interviewing and assessment. During her Ph.D. program, Ms. Kolakowsky-Hayner was an Assistant Professor for the VCU Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation participating in a variety of TBI, SCI, and cancer research and clinical activities. She also served as the project coordinator for the Traumatic Brain Injury State Demonstration Grant Program and was an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Rehabilitation Counseling, teaching online Masters courses. In addition, Ms. Kolakowsky-Hayner was the co-technical editor for NeuroRehabilitation and Brain Injury, both international and interdisciplinary journals. To date, Ms. Kolakowsky-Hayner has published over 30 peer-reviewed manuscripts, book chapters, workbooks, pamphlets, and grant applications. She has presented more than 20 paper and poster presentations at regional, national, and international conferences. She is proficient with a variety of software packages including SPSS, Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Microsoft Publisher, and PowerPoint. Additionally, while completing her studies, Ms. Kolakowsky-Hayner has been blessed with the births of her five children, Gary, Alexandra, Katherine, Victoria and Isabella.
