CollapseDescription

Hello! I'm Katherine Voldeng; better known to my family and friends as Katie. I was born in Memphis , TN but moved to the Greers Ferry Lake area around age four when my Dad, the late Bob Dwyer, began a little-known development called, Tannenbaum Resort. That development has since grown into one of the most pristine residential resort areas in the state. My dad was a builder of great integrity, never once cutting corners and creating some of the most beautiful houses I've ever seen, without interrupting the flow of nature. It's been said about my dad, that he once built an entire house around an old oak tree. My Dad's love of the land, aesthetic homes, and entrepreneurial spirit must have rubbed off on me, because I have since modeled a career like his. After graduating from the University of Arkansas with a degree in Interior Design, I moved to Little Rock, Arkansas, where a friend and I opened our own business called Design Elements. I developed a client base where I specialized in space planning, custom furniture design, colors and fabrics, etc. I loved working with both new and existing homes. At this point, I even ventured into some commercial work including several doctor's offices and store layouts. In the summer of 1988, I moved back to Memphis, where I worked for a then - emerging company, known as Norwalk , The Furniture Idea. I continued on with designing for clients, creating for them beautiful spaces. I was told that I had a great eye for the emerging trends and couldn't believe it when I became a buyer for the store. Designing and buying for Norwalk could have been the high point of my career, (winning quite a few awards as a top sales person) but I still felt as though I could do better. My Dad always guided me in most decisions and one day, I mentioned to him that I was thinking of real estate. He was very proud, but he also let me know that real estate transactions needed to always be treated with integrity and ethically. I carry that advice with me daily. In May of 1994, I studied for and received my real estate license and began working for Pyramid Realtors in Memphis. My first year was tough; a learning experience. But by 1995, I was outselling some of the most seasoned Realtors in the company and became a multi-million dollar producer by 1997. I was awarded the top selling agent in the Cordorva, Tennessee, Pyramid office in 1997 and 1998. I moved back to Northwest Arkansas in January of 1999, transferring my license to Harris McHaney during the summer of 2000. That's when I decided that building spec houses in Bella Vista would be a great opportunity to get started in real estate in Northwest Arkansas . It also gave me the experience from the very beginning stages, from building, and everything else in between, to selling the final product - a beautiful home. I choose to be both a Buyers and Sellers agent, because I don't want to limit my ability to serve any one client. My favorite houses to sell would naturally be new construction (I get to be hands on in the design process - an added bonus to my clients), but I see the potential in existing and older homes as well. Despite being a Mother to two boys, Tyler (age 8) and Riley (age 4), being a Realtor is what defines me. I have been raised around the building and selling of homes, I have spent much time designing and creating beautiful homes, and now I get to do it all. Call me crazy, but I am that rare person who honestly enjoys her job!
