My name is Dennis Riordan. Throughout my career, my focus has been on the supply chain. I have become adept in budgeting, planning, forecasting, negotiating, procurement, warehousing, transportation and leading teams of skilled professionals ranging in size from 6 to 85 people. I can bring a variety of supply chain, inventory management and administration skills to the business arena. I can also work with other team members at all levels to identify and document relevant performance metrics and progress made toward company objectives. My past accomplishments are verifiable through my references, which I can provide upon request. Recently, I lost my job as VP of Inventory with Levy Home Entertainment due to a restructuring. Levy, is one of the largest book distributors in the US. I joined Levy a year ago after being recruited from NTN Bearing Corporation of America. I had been NTN’s Director of Operations for more than three years. Before that, I held executive positions with other major corporations including six years as Director of Purchasing and Systems with J. C. Whitney (automotive parts). While losing my job at Levy is a setback, it does afford me the opportunity to change my selection criteria so as to give the greatest consideration to companies and institutions that are carefully positioning themselves for future growth. Performance in Operations at NTN is measured by the ratio of outbound shipments of product vs. the business plan, and the extend to which excess inventory is managed out of the inventory with the maximum recovery.
