In august 1982, I started to work with Cementos Samper Company, today (CEMEX), in the construction of one of their new plants, and prior commencement I was send by FLSMIDTH to Copenhagen (Denmark), Germany, Spain, and Portugal to be trained, FLSmidth is a leading company in the Design and Building Construction of cement Plants all over the world. I worked as the Project Mgr Assistant. putting together all drawings sets and specification for builders and construction companies, making sure the equipment met specifications and drawings with mechanical, electrical, and electronic engineers, I worked as well with civil engineers on setting up footing, concrete silos, and all foundation where the equipment was to be set up, I worked along with the different trades supervising contractors for two years. After that I worked as well on equipment start up balancing the plant to start clinker process to latter design procedures for maintenance. In 1986 I created my own company bidding jobs with ECOPETROL (Colombian Oil Company) as well as Cementos Diamante, Cementos Hercules, and Abocol. 1986-2003 I had the opportunity to work in the set up of SCADA system for the pumping station in Villeta, Alban, closed to Bogota Colombia. In this project I had to make excavations, set up the conduit pipe, pored concrete and wired for every single valve, electronic device installation, thermostats installation, and controlled flows, all of this to be connected with the headquarters office in downtown Bogota. Another job I had the opportunity to work on was in Covenas, and Magangue pump stations; in this job I had to setup an air system compressors, air tanks, different sizes of pipes between 2” to 6” and different schedules in order to start the biggest engine of the pump, we took care of the lay outs, civil work, electric, and started up the equipment, we worked on the schedule in coordination with the customer and we supervised our people on site. I had the opportunity as I mentioned before to work as well with Cementos Hercules in which we had to cut off the old kiln to updated and set it up bigger. We made our team and started cut off, we put together the bigger kiln worked along with surveying and welders team. We created a good civil engineering team and got experience in (bridges, box culvert, and concrete structures) jobs for oil, cement, government and heavy industries. Business was booming, but unfortunately our country had many problems and we had to close down. In 2004 I created a new company here in the USA and started over again my new business, although very hard, it gave me a lot of knowledge being in a completely different system, even though the bidding process is pretty much the same, the numbers and drawings are the same everywhere. 2004-2008 I had contracts in metal frame, gypsum board, acoustical ceiling and finishing here in Charlotte, NC for a long time one of them was the GCU Headquarters Building renovation three storage in Greenville NC, Elkin high school three storage in Elkin NC, Caldwell Community College, Broyhill Multipurpose Facility four storage in Hudson NC, Renovation Scientology Church ten storage building in Manhattan NY, Restaurant Mexicasa in Charlotte NC, business was booming, but then the recession came and I had to close down business. After that I was hired in March, 2008 by Aumund. 2008 I started working with Aumund a company that designs, builds, and installs conveyors for Cement and Mines Industries I took care of some project in USA, Canada, we got a project in Texas with CEMEX called Balcones a new line ten machineries from our company I had to supervised the contractors to do the job according to specs and drawings, I worked also in Holcim project called St. Genevieve the biggest cement plant project in USA closed to Festus Missouri, while working in there I had commission jobs in different places like St Mary’s cement plant in Bowmansville ON Canada, GCC Rio Grande cement plant in Pueblo CO, Florida Rock cement plant in Newberry FL, and American Cement plant in Summerville FL. I was an Equipment Consultant for this company for almost a year, but then again “recession” I got lay off. I appreciate the time you are taking to read this letter, and look forward to talk to you pretty soon.
