I recently graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a bachelor’s degree in Economics—acquiring knowledge that piqued my interest in consumer and firm behavior and how each impact the global market. My academic work, which includes modeling real world problems and identifying trends, has equipped me with the ability to discover solutions to issues in an ever-changing world. During my time as an undergraduate, I was never reluctant to take on additional responsibility, having served as a teaching assistant and treasurer of the campus economics society. Throughout my tenure as treasurer, I planned a trip to St. Louis, acquired a well-known keynote speaker, and increased membership, all under budget, and was able to keep funds in the treasury for future use. My peers, as well as many professors, recognize my leadership ability and can attest to my commitment and professional work ethic. In addition, I have work experience, outside of college activities, that involved direct contact with customers, gaining first-hand insight into what drives consumer demand. In my sales and customer service positions, I also enhanced what I can provide to a collaborative environment—I possess the ability to communicate effectively, discover solutions in a timely manner, and work successfully in a team to reach a common goal. I budget my time and use resources to get the most potential from each interaction with clients and internal associates, holding myself to a high degree of accountability to ensure that duties are carried out utilizing the most efficient solutions. My high comfort level using spreadsheet and statistical computer applications would be a considerable plus for any research team. I also have a keen interest in market research, industrial organization, and the macro-economy—I benefit from keeping myself educated on current market news and trends. |
