Professional experience - Extensive years of management 2004 to current – Managerial/Supervisory position Anderson Die Casting Wheeling/Elk Grove Village, IL. Manager 1999-2004 - Responsible to the president for all facets of daily manufacturing activity, including manufacturing, maintenance, and tool room departments for multiple facilities, both automotive and non-automotive. Directly involved with materials management and most customer contact. Instrumental in ISO, QS, and TS accreditation. Oversaw die casting (17 machines ranging from 500T to 1200T), and casting aluminum, za and zinc alloys. Operation included extensive machining capabilities and outside finishing. During my tenure, efficiencies, safety, turnover and utilization reflected a continuous five-year improvement. Aallied Industries Franklin Park, IL. Manager 1990-1991 and 1997-1999 - Answering to the owner for all facets of daily operation, excluding engineering department. Directly involved with key customer relations. Continuous improvements recognized in all production related areas - particularly in the area of safety and accident elimination. National Seal Galesburg, IL. Manufacturing Manager 1991-1997 - Oversaw plastic extrusion operation that manufactured polyethylene sheet for waste containment systems. Responsible for the installation and operation of world’s largest flat plastic extrusion line. Accountable to the president for manufacturing, inventory control, and shipping/receiving activities. Also responsible for labor relations and union negotiations involving this 24/7 operation. Impact Industries Sandwich, IL. Manager 1981-1990 - Responsible to the president and/or CEO for plant operations. An extremely diverse operation, employing approximately 200 people. Machine sizes ranged from 450T to 1600T, and material consisted of mainly aluminum, although some zinc applications did exist. Machining was extensive and extremely sophisticated. Internal finishing included wheelabrating and vibratory deburr. Outside finishing consisted of plating and painting. Operation offered a great deal of subassembly. Stimulated role of employees to accomplish a most impressive list of improvements involving safety, efficiency, scrap (internal and external), utilization of operator time, and turnover. Rewarded by being recognized as ‘World Class’ by GM for all production related areas, and by becoming 1st ‘Certified’ mechanical supplier to Motorola. Plant scrap - all production departments saw minimal reduction of 24% internal fallout. Returns - 52% reduction from 1987 thru 1990. Plant efficiency - all production departments saw improvement of no less than 21% - no lowering of standards. Lost-time injuries -down 59% between 1989 and 1990. Absenteeism - down from 6.1% in 1987 to 3.2% in 1990. Overtime - down 62% from 1987 to 1990. Purchasing - % of purchased items to sales $ down 18% between 1988 to 1990.
