CollapseDescription

I have been in the healthcare industry for over 20 yrs. and within that time, I have taken the time to learn a lot in wide range of services ranging from setting up a brand new medical office to regular billing, a/r, coding, etc. The healthcare industry is a everchanging industry and I have managed to do whatever it took to stay on top of the game (sort of speaking) but it can also be a very rewarding field especially when you have someone come up to you after you have worked a very difficult account and they say thank you so much. It makes you want to become that person's protector when it comes to their medical care. I just love it.

Highlights:

I have so many, but not from going to an accredited school, but by working on the job, I can't list them all. I get my rewards like I stated earlier by helping someone who hasn't a clue about their coverage and they may come into the office that I am currently working in almost in tears because they can't understand what is going on, so I take all their paper work (eob's, RA's) and sort them out for them, then I sit down with them and explain it to them in a way that they can understand exactly what is going on. To see the relief on their face makes me feel good.

Companies I like:

Private practices, Consulting

CollapseResponsibilities

I worked with a billing company to handled physicians that were off site. Because of that we incurred a lot of issues with trying to get the proper information needed in order for us to be able to do our job effectively. I took upon myself to produce the necessary reports showing the types of inconsistancies that we continue to have and presented them to my boss who in turn took them to president of company and once she realize how non- compliant they were and that we were losing so much money from them, she agreed to terminate the contract.
