The organization lacked a disciplined investment process for investing client assets. Performance had deteriorated causing sales and client retention to decline. Determined where the department needed to be in three to five years in terms of product placement and performance then developed and implemented an investment process for investment management to include asset allocation and security selection. Results: Product performance improved across all portfolios; reduced dispersion and lower overall client risk resulting in a 30% increase in sales as well as a client retention rate of greater than 95% for the department. Organization did not function as a team. Client dissatisfaction was high and senior management had no confidence in the unit to deliver product or services. Unit was inefficient and causing harm to the ongoing operations of the organization. Communicated my vision for the organization then organized them into teams. Sought input for the ultimate goals for the organization. Developed and executed a reward and recognition program. Led by example in attitude, communications and actions. Results: Organizational efficiency improved as a result of a common understanding of goals and objectives. The team was viewed by the organization as team rather than the previous group of individuals.
