SYSTRENDS USA—PROJECT MANAGER, TECHNICAL WRITER Systrends is a software and services company that specializes in software acceleration and integration, data communication, transaction management, compliance, and cybersecurity. After working as a writer and project manager in financial services and software development, I joined Systrends as a Principal and Project Manager in 1998; named Systrends President in 2013. Controls design and content of all Systrends’ business documentation (as described above under “Career Objective”). Created documentation for Systrends’ client projects; highlights include: • Exelon Energy—Replaced a convoluted and complex manual billing process with Systrends’ software and documentation. • Independent System Operators (SPP, ISO NE, New York ISO, and PJM) tariff management consortium—developed project requirements and training materials for a FERC project that mandated electronic filing. • Logica North America—Created user procedures to replace outdated systems manuals. • Wells Fargo/First Interstate Bank/Wells Fargo—Developed procedures for data security, data archival, and production support. • Bank of America—Wrote procedures for 30+ internal operations departments. • Motorola—Performed structured analysis and created documentation for the Motorola EDI Gateway. VIASOFT, INC.—SENIOR TECHNICAL WRITER Viasoft, Inc. created systems to automate analyzing and understanding complex COBOL logic. I was hired as a Senior Technical Writer to create user-friendly procedures from complicated system specifications. • Converted software documentation from various formats to IBM BookManager and MS Word. • Developed a user-friendly procedure-guide format for all software products; extrapolated user processes from numerous technical manuals to create a one-stop user handbook. • Developed and wrote content for the first Viasoft website; received “Development Employee of the Year” award. BANK OF AMERICA/SECURITY PACIFIC BANK/THE ARIZONA BANK—PROJECT MANAGER, DEPARTMENT MANAGER, EDITOR, WRITER I was hired by The Arizona Bank as a Technical Writer; promoted to Procedures Analyst then Editor. Subsequently, became the Manager of the Documentation Department and received an Assistant Vice President title. I then took a position as a Project Manager in Systems Management. • Directed projects and project teams for business process implementations/changes and system enhancements and conversions. • Managed the Documentation and Forms Department—which included technical writers, editors, and forms designers; was responsible for all bank policy and procedures—operations, lending, security, and human resources. • Edited and supervised technical writers. • Wrote policy and procedures for operations, lending, security, and human resources. During my employment, the ownership of the bank changed twice—from The Arizona Bank to Security Pacific; then from Security Pacific to Bank of America. I later worked for BOA as a contract writer with Systrends, writing departmental procedures.
